Ola Onda are the husband and wife duo of visual artist Lillian Martinez and photographer Daniel McKee. Self describing their work as 'bright and mysterious, a new kind of ethereal' their imagery is like something from a different world, some place neatly tucked between real life and your computer. Using elements such as partly visible body parts and weird compositions of various objects, photographed as if they're scanned, the outcomes range from looking like a collection of your favourite stuff you kept in your lunchbox, placed on top of awkward stock images to what can only be described as future still life.
Whether imagemaking or art directing for lookbooks, the work is always outlandish and incredibly interesting. And, with project titles such as 'Slow Future' and 'Afterlife/Afterparty' you know it's good.
