L.A. Club Resource

Stirring up his influences from ghetto house, grainy hip hop and what seems like some brown bag VHS culture, Delroy Edward’s has crafted a perfectly seedy, mid 90s ‘America’s Most Wanted’ aesthetic for his recent Los Angeles based imprint, L.A. Club Resource. Concentrated on producing rough and ready cuts for the club, the label's roster takes a grittier approach to building tracks compared to the melodious and reclusive sounding Terekkes and Gunnar Haslams of Delroy's first home, L.I.E.S.
Two releases deep, and the third just out from Edward’s himself as DJ Punisher, the label has gained pace with support from heads like Jurg Haller of Forbidden Planet, Actress and all encompassing London radio show, NTS. With Chicago Don, Gene Hunt already penned in for LACR005 and the killer untitled track from the barely documented Delivery that’s been floating around online, the bar has been set pretty high for the small outfit.
For more on L.A.C.R. check the ‘Rap Shit’ and NTS mixes to catch some appropriately pitched, 33RPM sluggishness, sleazy hotline digits and hidden rap tape gems. You can also check their online store Gene’s Liquor for restocks of DJ Harlow’s ‘Waxwork’, Edwards’ ‘Untitled’ and some other cool shit.
