Joe Hamilton

Using his own recorded photography and videos, alongside imagery found online, Joe Hamilton creates deep landscapes that are incredibly easy to get lost in. This mixture of found and recorded material is so interesting and the results are like a combination of visual collages and traditional landscapes, but together and in motion it creates something so new and futuristic.
We've loved Hamilton's work for a long time, but recently we got completely hooked by this line in his bio; 'Joe Hamilton makes use of technology and found material to create intricate and complex compositions online, offline and between.' The idea of between is what got us most. Hamilton's work is the visualisation of this new space, found somewhere between online and offline worlds. The vast contrast in the man made technologies and natural material also adds to this new space, balanced between real life and the online world. These sampled, layered, warped landscapes are what Night Slugs' dreams are made of.
